Sound Equipment and Requirements
Diamond Someday can provide a portable sound system which is carried in a small 8 foot towed trailer. The system is adaptable to both inside and outside venues and is quickly set up. We only need 110 V power of 20 Amps dedicated.
We can also use a provided sound system. We use our own condenser mics which require phantom power (we have the portable phantom power if necessary). These mics require 3 XLR inputs. We do not use stage monitors. We also uses a powered stand alone bass amp/speaker for the bass player which is located in back of the band and sits on the floor.
A typical set up would be 3 mics attached to a snake which then attaches to the amp(s) and recording device on a table 50 feet away in front of the band. Cables then go from the amp(s) to 4 speakers placed in front of the band and before the audience. The system must then be balanced for the room to provide the best sound. The amps can also be located in back of the band should there be a space limitation in front.
Diamond Someday usually does it's own set up but a sound person is always appreciated as well as help in carrying the equipment Setup and balancing generally takes about than an hour and tear down about 30 min. We normally like to arrive about 1 1/2 hours ahead of playing time which also give the band time to warm up after the sound system is set up. A small area for the band warm up is appreciated.
